Two prototypes of "The Rocket" designed by the Libyan leader were displayed to the public late Monday at the end of an African Union summit in Tripoli called to seek solutions to Africa's problems.
With its design based on that of a small boat "for maximum security", the car has been financed with Libyan capital and built by Italian constructor Tesco TS.
A member of the Italian team involved said the vehicle prototype "would have cost in the two million euro range."
According to a brochure handed to journalists, the "Tesco TS technical team followed to the letter the ideas of the designer, the leader (Gathafi) to produce the perfect car according to the leader's vision."
