Industrialists in the eastern Italian town of Pesaro are becoming ever more interested in the Mediterranean area, particularly Libya and Algeria. Between June 28 and July 2, both these countries will host workshops - including face-to-face meetings - to take place in Tripoli and Algiers, for the construction, mechanics and furniture sectors. Pierluigi D'Agata, the general director of Italy's industrialist association for the area (Assafrica & Mediterraneo) has said that "Libya is the fastest growing country, in terms of GDP, in the entire Mediterranean (up 7.1 in 2008) and will sustain 7.9% growth in 2009 according to the IMF.
